FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
October 1, 2001
THE ANTIGONISH REVIEW
The Antigonish Review's summer
2001 issue is hot off the press!
It features cover art by Steven Rhude; fiction by Jean
McNeil; poetry by Jan Conn, Pat Jasper, and many others; reviews, articles;
and much more.
The new issue will be launched on Wednesday, October
17, 7 pm, at the St. F.X. Art Gallery.
The launch will be a gala evening of readings from the
latest issue, music, wine and cheese, door prizes, and a chance to meet
cover artist Steven Rhude as well as the new editorial co-operative.
The Antigonish Review,
one of Canada's oldest and best-respected venues for writers and visual
artists, is in its thirty-first year. Founded by Father R. J. MacSween,
the Review has published work by emerging authors from the maritimes,
the rest of Canada, and the international writing community. Such literary
illuminaries as David Adams Richards, Sheldon Currie, Annie Dillard, George
Elliott Clarke, and Carol Shields have appeared in our pages.
The October 17th launch will celebrate the continued vitality
of The Antigonish Review.
Says Allan Quigley, editor, "at our launch, we will share
some of the exciting ideas we have for the future. We're hoping people
will come out for an evening of fun, and will lend their support to our
university's international journal of fiction and poetry."
Everyone is welcome; admission is free.
